Pretty good ice cream, not sure what the hype was, maybe I didn't choose a good flavor or had a bad batch. I got the green tea ice cream that tasted exactly like a store bought one. Overall, very packed during weekend nights, but seems like everyone enjoys it there.

It has been the best ice cream in Sacramento for 60 years of my personal experience. It still is. Try the pumpkin spice, or pumpkin pie spice ice cream. It is the best!

Service is amazing.I'd suggest going in google to check whats the best time to come in.Im assuming most evenings are going to be busy.Expect a lot of "happy birthday " sing a longs.Ice cream is super sugary not my personal taste.I had the impossible burger which I DO NOT.

Overwhelming! So many flavors and they are all delicious. Tried half the menu and it didn't narrow the options down at all.The staff were great, super friendly, full of recommendations, and very patient while we tried everything!

Great ice cream, very creamy, not hard and dense. Small place, but that's part of the charm. Always a line, but their system is efficient, and the service is fast and friendly. Cool old signs and photos for you to look at while you wait.

They got some of the best flavors. People come from miles around just to get this ice cream. In the summer time there's a line out front it is worth it.

Quaint, but charming. Stopped in for the first time to try the highly suggested old fashioned handmade ice cream and it was absolutely worth it. As soon as you enter you are greeted by smiling employees. They were kind to advise me as a first time visitor what they recommend. I ordered a double scoop in a waffle bowl and it cost less than $7. I ordered the chocolate chip cookie dough and the Thai Tea flavor. I loved them both. I will say I was a bit disappointed that the chocolate chip cookie dough didn't have more cookie dough but the yummy, delicious and creamy flavor was great. I now understand why everyone highly recommends this place. We got lucky and found parking right away, we were told we beat the mad afternoon rush. 👍🏼

Love the fruit freeze!! I ordered a large for my first time and sucked that thing dry. Don’t be intimidated by the long lines. It moves fast.

I've always loved it It's been around for over 80 years same location same structure never changed I like the nostalgia Lines can be a little long but it's worth it

Love this place!! Employees are always welcoming and attentive. I ordered an eggnog sundae w/ light chocolate and marshmallow drizzle. OMG...easily some of the best ice cream I've ever had. My only complaint..the I side is small. It was raining and all the booths were filled. My son and I ended up sitting outside.

Best ice cream ever!!! My life has never been the same. My boyfriend brought me here before we moved to the Sacramento Area. And now that we live so close... oh my! Every flavor is so good. My favorite is the chocolate chip cookie dough. I also love the lemon Fruit freeze. ♡♡♡ if you want to be really bad.... get the chocolate dipped cheesecake on a stick.

Sacramento hasn’t had a storm of ice cream shops like other cities. I grew up @ Vic’s but they’ve gotten so dirty I cannot go there anymore. And that is a shame. Gunthers has great ice cream & they always hv a libe. Enjoy!

Good, classic ice cream shop. They've been making their ice cream in house since around 1940. There's are so many flavors to choose from, and they also offer floats, shakes, all kinds of toppings, plus other dessert items. They are a staple of Sacramento!

I love ice cream and Gunther's is definitely a place one must visit. I haven't found a flavor I love yet... Do keep in mind that this place is popular so do expect a line at most times.

Great customer service. Young lady at the counter was very attractive and presentable, her welcoming was warm. Cashier was patient as we were a large group visiting from Dallas and did not know what to choose. Ice cream was fresh and creamy. Flavors chosen were superb. Would recommend this spot to anyone as a must visit spot.

Really great ice cream. And shoot servings. The servers were friendly. And made sure to explain the couple questions I had. Absolutely priced affordable. A three scoop sundae which could feed three people. Was a little over $9. Super affordable huge sizes and amazing quality. Beats any store-bought ice cream I've ever had.

Great old school ice cream parlor with a friendly staff. High quality ice cream with some great Sunday options. Also, lots of pre-made frozen treats like ice cream sandwiches, chocolate covered cheese cake and more. We will definitely visit again.

Always fresh and tasty flavors and def try out the flavor of the month if you are adventurous some of them are absolutely incredible 😍
